How this swp calculator works
QuickCalcy applies one month of assumed growth, then subtracts the monthly withdrawal. This repeats until the selected period ends or the corpus is exhausted.
Worked example
Starting with ₹50 lakh and withdrawing ₹40,000 monthly for 10 years at an assumed 8% return illustrates the interaction between growth and withdrawals.
Assumptions
- Growth is applied monthly before each withdrawal.
- The withdrawal amount stays constant.
- The annual return is divided equally across 12 months.
- No new contributions are added.
Limitations
- Actual returns vary and sequence risk can materially change outcomes.
- Inflation, taxes, fees and exit loads are excluded.
- The estimate is not a safe-withdrawal recommendation.
Frequently asked questions
What is an SWP?
A systematic withdrawal plan redeems a chosen amount from an investment at regular intervals.
Can an SWP corpus run out?
Yes. High withdrawals, low returns or losses can exhaust it.
Does the calculator increase withdrawals for inflation?
No. It models a constant monthly withdrawal.
Are SWP returns guaranteed?
No. Market-linked returns fluctuate.
Does it calculate tax?
No. Tax treatment depends on the investment and each redemption.
Why does sequence risk matter?
Losses early in a withdrawal period can leave less capital available for recovery.
Can I download the estimate?
